Elegant Dining Room Upgrade

Hello Friends,

Today I'm sharing how I added elegance to my plain gray wall dining space.  This area is not one that we entertain a lot in but since our home is an open floor plan and it's adjacent my newly remodeled kitchen, I wanted to make it beautiful.  Firstly,  the light gray paint gave this space a very cool tone and feels.  This color has been on my wall since we moved in our house almost five years ago. I wanted to make this space warm and welcoming yet not too bright and white.  If you have been following me for a while you know that i love everything gold decor.  I chose warm and gold to grace this space. Grab something warm or cool to sip on while you enjoy this post and I hope you are inspired.

Wall Color

As I mentioned above that I'm moving away from the cool gray color.  I was going back and forth on Alabaster White and Swiss Coffee.  After all the hard decision making, I chose Swiss  Coffee a Benjamin Moore color that I got matched and purchased at Home Depot in Behr brand satin finish.

Wall Details

Do you like textured walls?  I absolutely love it!  I've been wanting to add wainscoting to our walls for the longest and finally DIYed it.  This gave our wall a whole new look and a more elegant feel.  I'm a little extra on elegance and decided to line the trims with metallic gold tape.  It's stunning and definitely elevated these walls. It's not too overpowering and just enough added details.  I like the idea of this tape because should i want to go back to a simply look i can just remove the tape.  What do you think of decorated wainscoting trims?

Lightings

Chandelier

I had a very traditional, medieval chandelier in this room.   It's like an eye sore for years.  I was so excited when Savoy House  approved a collaboration with me on this dining room project and gifted me this exquisite beauty name Livorno Linear Chandelier.  I love the noble brass with three tiers hanging crystals.  It's one of a kind and exactly what I wanted for this space.  This chandelier has eight lights and it is dimmable.  How amazing is that?  The perfect lighting for any mood and feels.  If you are shopping for a chandelier this one is amazing and very easy to install.

Sconces

Do you love sconces in your home?  I love them and these ones are our first but won't be our last.  I searched for a design that is simple yet elegant to go with my chandelier crystals.  The second I laid eyes on these ones I knew that these sconces will complement my stunning chandelier well.

Window Treatment

I decided to keep the same curtains and rods.  My curtain rod was silver with the crystal knobs and you would not believe the power of Rub N Buff, I turned it gold.  I purchased new gold curtain rod brackets and gold curtain rings with clips to enhance a new look at the window.  I love the new idea of hanging the white sheer curtains with these gold curtain clips.  To keep up the revamping process of this space, I added gold curtain drapery holdbacks with crystal knobs. A curtain decorating tip for giving your walls a taller illusion is to attached your curtain rod closer to the ceiling.

Furniture

I kept my table and chairs.  I have a very dark wooden espresso color, rectangular table with beautiful carvings.  This table goes well with my creamy wall tones.  My dining room chairs are beige fabric with nail headed details. Again, I evolved from that look and decided to purchase new chair covering until I decide if I will get a new set.  I chose off white velvet chair covers and let me tell you they looked stunning with the dark tone table. I'm going to link everything for you.

Decor

When your space is small, mirrors can help open the space and that's exactly what my gold floor mirror that we finally attached on the wall did for this space. I topped of the decorating for this dining space by adding cream roses and peonies in gold vase and white ginger jars.
